I enjoyed staying in the Tiki room. it was just what I was looking for. You've done a great job with your home and studios - everything is high quality, comfortable and beautiful. I loved waking in the morning to the view of the ocean with the birds singing outside the window. I'll be in touch with you on my next trip to Kona.

Highly Recommended!

We immensely appreciated the hospitality of Dean and Sherri at the Kona Hula House. We just spent ten days in the Garden Room - a spacious room with plenty of space for us including an outside patio. The environment was pleasant, the quality of the rooms was tremendous and the hospitality provided was even better. The Hula House location is ideal for those who would like to walk and enjoy the village area or, easily accessed for those who wish to explore the Big Island. Easy to find..... easy to park, just steps from your room.

We highly recommend the Kona Hula House to those people who are looking for a quality experience in Hawaii and have a sense of independence to enjoy the location; not wishing to wrap themselves up in the typical resort environment.

Wow!!!

We just spent the past two weeks in paradise. We feel so fortunate to have found the "Kona Hula Girl". The Tiki room is beautiful as are each of the four studio apartments. Each room has special qualities to offer. You will probably want to try a different room each time you visit the Island. Every day we could feel the cool breeze coming into our room and the view was gorgeous. The location is ideal as we were able to walk to downtown Kailua Kona. There were many restaurants and shops to visit and the Kona coast is breathtaking. We have never stayed in a cleaner more inviting place. The owners, Dean and Sherri Renberg, are the kindest folks you could encounter. We recommend the Kona Hula Girl to anyone wanting beauty, comfort, quality, and an overall wonderful experience!

Kona Hula Girl

From the beginning of our stay to the very end, everything was amazing about staying here. Dean and Sherri, the owners are very warm and kind as well as professional and communicative. The space the have created reflects this warmth so it feels as if you're staying with friends.

I was initially concerned about staying somewhere that seemed to be on a main street and that it had only screens and shutters instead of glass windows, but the street is quiet and peaceful and the room was never uncomfortably warm. Even the bed was as comfortable as the one we sleep on at home.

The house was constructed in 2007 and everything is new: the tasteful decor, the linens, the fixtures, the appliances, etc. so everything feels and looks very clean and inviting.

As far as the proximity to Kona town, you cannot get any better. In five minutes, we could be strolling along Ali'i Drive right next to the ocean and all the restaurants or picking up our fresh fruit at the Farmer's Market.

Basically, I love the owners, loved their family, loved the location, loved the price.....loved everything! Honestly, I almost selfishly didn't want to write a review since I want to be able to book a room here for our next vacation, too!

Since a completely glowing review would make this seem in-genuine, here are the slight negatives: Birds can hasten your morning wake-up if you're a light sleeper, the water pressure in the shower could be a bit better, and you'll eventually have to leave, which is sad.
